The 6-Step Benchmark Product Certification Process is designed to make the certification process simple, quick and painless.

- Step 1: You test your products to the relevant Standard using a recognized independent testing laboratory
- Step 2: You provide a copy of your test reports to BSI for review
- Step 3: BSI undertake an on-site (place of manufacture) assessment of your manufacturing process and your quality management system.
- Step 4: BSI issue a report identifying deficiencies (if any) for correction
- Step 5: BSI issues a certificate of Product Certification and schedule of certified products (valid for 5 years) and guidelines on use of the Benchmark Product Certification mark on conformant products
- Step 6: BSI undertake an annual on site review (as per Step 3) and issue a report (as per Step 4).
