Demonstrate your compliance to this industry recognized code
The Civil Contractors Federation in Australia has developed a code (called the Civil Construction Management Code). The code is based on the Australian and International Standards for Quality, Safety and Environmental management systems, and has been customised to meet the needs of the civil construction industry. It offers companies the ability to demonstrate compliance to a recognised Code without the need to get full Certification to ISO 9001, ISO14001 and AS/NZS4801.
The CCF Program has been recognised by a number of key stakeholders and purchasing bodies throughout Australia and New Zealand, like State Utilities (Water, Roads, Electricity etc) and local Governments who wish to have confidence in the supply chain.
The Program has been very successful in supporting many organisations (large and small) involved in all aspects of civil construction including the construction of roads and bridges, land development, water treatment and reticulation, telecommunications infrastructure, electricity distribution, gas pipelines and dams throughout Australia and New Zealand.
BSI is one of the recognised organisations accredited to provide certification services to the CCF Civil Construction Management Code. Please note, however, that we do not offer any consulting or training in the program, hence providing true independence.
Our auditors in the field have specific construction experience, and as part of our audits we visit one or more sites: we put the helmet and boots on, and verify that the work is being completed in accordance the requirements of your system and the Code, and meets the needs of your Clients.
A small business version of the CCF has also been introduced, called SCIMS (Small Contractor Integrated Management System) which has been tailored to better meet the requirements and risk exposure of small organisations.

Following a successful assessment the CCF can endorse a contractor’s application for certification, knowing that the contractor has met rigorous criteria specifically relating to the civil construction industry and the internationally based quality, safety and environmental management requirements.
Contractors certified under the CCF Program also have the confidence that the Code has been endorsed under a national accreditation Program managed by the Joint Accreditation System – Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ).
CCF has seen many of its members and non members realise a significant return on their decision to invest in the development of management systems and certification. The benefits include the ability to tender for projects that are subject to strict selection criteria, as well as providing confidence to the contractor that legal requirements relating to safety and environmental management have been met.

If you’re new to BSI, don’t worry – the certification process is very simple, and the following steps demonstrate:
1. Make contact
Get in touch and tell us what you need, so we can sort out the best services for you. We’ll then give you a proposal detailing the cost and time involved of assessing and certifying your integrated management system.
2. Meet your assessment team
We’ll assign you a Client Manager, who will be your main point of contact through the process – and beyond. They’ll have an excellent understanding of your business area and will support you as you move forward to the assessment and certification of your integrated management system.
3. Integrated management system assessment
We’ll complete an assessment of your system at your premises and visit one or more of your current projects in order to ascertain the level of compliance that you have attained against the requirements of the CCF Civil Construction Management Code. If the Client Manager is satisfied that you have satisfactorily implemented your system and that there are no identified non conformances then a recommendation will be made for certification to be granted to your organisation.
4. Certification and beyond
Once the recommendation for certification has been made, we’ll issue a certificate of registration to the CCF Civil Construction Management Code, clearly explaining the scope of your management system. The certificate is valid for 12 months; therefore annual assessments will be necessary to enable certification status to be maintained.
