What can BSI offer the Disability and Community sector?
At BSI, we un-complicate the certification process by offering:
- Information seminars on Quality for management and staff
- In-House Training - via a 1 day Introduction to the Standard or a 2-day Internal Auditor course
- Gap analysis audit to confirm where your system is compliant and where it may need some additional attention to meet compliance
- Preparation for certification planning session
- Certification to the required Standards
- Additional certification to reduce your Disability Services Standards on-site audit time (e.g. ISO 9001, AS/NZS 4801/OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, etc.)

1. Contact us
Get in touch with a customer service consultant and tell us what you need, so we can sort out the best service for you. A proposal will be developed detailing the cost of the certification program.
2. Meet Your Assessment Team
We’ll assign you a client manager, who will be your main contact through the process and beyond. They’ll have an excellent understating of disability organisations, and meeting the needs of people with disabilities. Client managers will support you as you move forward to the assessment process.
3. Gap Analysis and/or training
There are a range of products and services prior to the initial assessment. Contact the customer service consultant who will assist in this area.
4. Review & Assessment
We’ll do a desktop review; provide feedback prior to an on-site assessment.
5. Certification (maintenance/surveillance)
Once the initial assessment has been completed, we’ll issue a certificate of registration, clearly explaining the scope of your management system. The certificate is valid for 3 years, and your assessors will visit your regularly (annually) to help you remain compliant, and support you in the continual improvement of your systems.
6. Transfer of Certificate
Any organisation that holds a current certificate of registration for the above standards can transfer to BSI at any stage during the certification cycle.
