BSI's Product Schedule and Certificate Changes process

Benchmark Product Certification - Quality Certified ProductsBSI is continually finding ways to streamline and un-complicate the product certification landscape for our clients. The latest initiative in this area relates to client requests to change details or their Certificates and/or Product Schedules.

Our simple 8-step process provides our clients with a centralised location to submit change requests and provide you with a straight forward process for tracking and managing your product schedules and certificates.  This will ensure fast and efficient turn-around times for your all important changes requests.

Product Schedule and Certificate Changes process

  1. Client requests a change to a Certificate and/or Change to a product Schedule.
  2. Client downloads and completes request form from the website and returns completed form to product@bsigroup.com.
  3. BSI reviews and confirms time frame required to complete the requested change and issues a quote for the requested activity.
  4. After the client accepts the proposal, BSI allocates the activity to a suitably qualified Client Manager
  5. BSI Client Manager commences work on the requested change.
  6. A draft certificate/schedule is created and sent to client for approval and/or amendment.
  7. Upon approval, the final locked Certificate and/or Schedule is sent to the client.
  8. An invoice for services performed will be issued and sent by the BSI Finance Team.

The table below outlines the main categories that can be requested through this process.

Type of Change Description
Certificate Change Change required to Certificate details outside of an audit cycle. Examples could include a change of address, change of trading name or new ABN.
Schedule Change – Simple A simple change requiring minimal effort which is low risk. For example, the addition or a model number, or different product size, colour etc. to our audit schedule.
Schedule Change – Complex A complex change requiring significant effort with greater risk. For example, creation of a new schedule for a certificate involving a new design or use of new technology within the product (testing required and reviewed by BSI).
Technical Review A Technical Review requires a thorough review of all relevant and required documentation, but does not involve any on-site time. Inputs into a technical review include product specifications, testing reports, and other supporting documentation. The output from a technical review will be confirmation of compliance advice or, where appropriate certification to a particular scheme. For example a complete new range of models.
